Drove straight through on wed. morning left house at 4:30 am rolled into phoenix about 13hrs. later. Checked out Cactus bikes on thurs. morning for a map of South Mountain Park. Not a ton of help but pointed me in the right direction. Later start than usual but rolling none the less. Hot already! Makes me realize how lucky i am in colorado for the temps we have here!
This was day one of riding with day two planned for Friday, the more i rode the worse my rear hub got! Thought it was going to survive a couple more rides but not this time, didn't want to be stuck out in the desert pushing my bike in the heat!
Shot taken on the way down! Remainder of trip was spent watching Cody's team play against kids who play year round! Was some good down time and family time as well! Riding will be there, drove back through moab and hit a nasty wind and dust storm, then blowing snow with zero visibility! Snow quit just 2 miles south of moab, met up with andy chrysler in moab and met his family. Time to get back to work....ugh! Family decided we want to get back to moab within a few weeks for some hiking and some riding, this time take moots with us!

Got ratted in the canyon today!
Canyonrat(jerry) and myself hit waterton>ct>to south platte>and back
He shows up on yet another new frame sheesh! I flatted after a creek crossing and a slow 15 min. change, one broken crank bros. multi tool, spectacular trail conditions with that smell of spring but also the smell of a dry forest combining. What is up with the riding up on the ct to lennys with either no helmet or it strapped to the pack?? We were also passed by an older couple on a tandem on the road while we spun out our singlegear bikes!
5hr. ride 35miles with 4260' of climbing
No riding shots, too much fun. Well the climb back up from the river was not much fun, I will climb that without stopping some day! Still earned a couple of these though!
Then it was off to see the second game of the day, ended up 4-0 for the tournament, was only a scrimmage tournament though. Off to play in AZ with the big boys next week end.

the t.i.t.s. night ride splits into two groups
maddie wearin out near the end!
last 4 photos taken by andy chrysler
With warm weather all week, time to head back up to the hills, it is officially spring. We had a different idea of march madness! Some stayed down and did the green mountain thing, but we were set on Buffalo Creek. 6 strong tonight led by spike, wanted to do a different route as we have done the same route the last 5 times up here. Nice out and back, started Ranger station>543>shinglemill>CT>buffalo burn>CT> almost to chair rocks then back. Another black dark night with stars shining brightly. zero wind mild temps. Maddie, erics dog is so fun to ride with! Covered almost 30 miles with 2400' vertical. Not too bad for a thurs. night!

Bergen Peak
Eric and I rode from bergen park up to bergen peak, bit chilly to start but warmed up quick! 9700' at the top, not a bad way to start the day!
Eric's 69er Giant
Too much power just snapped the chain
I went over the bars on a little rock drop I rolled and somehow jammed the front tire and sent myself down the side of the trail, nice tumble, no major damage! Eric, I never did get the official score on that dismount?! About 17 miles , +2760' solid morning

Another t.i.t.s. night ride
13 or so, weather held up nicely! Not a drop of moisture, although much needed. Tonight's (thurs.) route was planned to be gm to zorro >dakota>red rocks>MW> then back up dakota> route changed due to falling into that JCOS hour after sunset curfew. so we hoofed up the road and back over to climb box o rox oh yeah. There were clearly a few who felt good, been a while since i've climbed that without stopping, maybe next week! Good to ride with spike and mateo again. Bergan peak with eric on sat. morn.

fifo ride this morning
more games and work this weekend so no riding, but what better way to start a monday than meeting it the TH at 5:00 am. Dakota/mathews winters this morning. Rode with jay, dan, jeremy. Techy ride on dakota under headlamps, surreal. Then on to red rock, mathews. Warm ride with just a slight breeze 1400' climbing in about 7 miles. no pics
maybe one more in before the night ride on thurs.

finally got in on a fifo ride (first in first out)
Met up scar, evil mge, dan and andy C. White Ranch at 5:00 am was the place to be. Alarm came way to early, but once up was not bad! Good dusty climb up belcher with breezy conditions and near 60 degrees, not bad for March! Came across a skunk, luckily he was a ways off the trail. Great way to start the morning, and finish it off with my son's hockey game which he scored the game winning goal with one minute left in the 3rd period! Good job son!
